Kimberley and the coast

In the Kimberley, in Australia’s Northwest, water equals life.

I started school in Broome, the Kimberley’s largest town. I had moved from the beautiful but harsh environment of Marble Bar in the Pilbara region.

Instead of the desert’s stillness the Kimberley is full of the pulse of life. My paintings capture its diversity, its coastal mangroves and beaches swept by giant tides, its people, fauna and flora and its rugged expanses and sky.
