The Marble Bar on the Coongan River from Flying Fox Pool

Marble Bar is in the Pilbara region of Australia’s north west, and is Australia’s hottest town – 161 consecutive days above 100℉ (as recorded by the Guinness Book of Records). The famous ‘marble’ that runs across the Coongan River (giving Marble Bar its name) is a large band of Jasper. The Jasper and the Banded Iron Formations bring extraordinary colours into this landscape, a strong favourite of mine.
