Life Giving Waters

Cottesloe to Rottnest

Dimensions 610 × 610 mm
| Oil on Linen
| SOLD

This painting tells a story about Cottesloe, a village between the life giving waters of river and sea.Lines of Norfolk pines stand around the tea house and along Broome Street, and the railway line runs through on its way down to Fremantle. Mosman Bay is calm, with its jetties and small boats at anchor. Looking out over the ocean to Rottnest, you can see the container ships anchored in Gage Roads, and the kite surfers dance along South Cottesloe beach.

The name of this painting was inspired from a poem by Rumi:

“We feel the flowing water of life here, you and I, with the garden’s beauty and the birds singing”.
