Oil on Linen
This painting captures a memory of walking over the bridge near the waterlilies in Margaret River. I’m walking with my wife, and we are feeling like a king and queen. I love waterlilies. In summer they sit there on the surface of the water.
In winter the water flows swiftly. You see the lilies are pulled by the current, but they hold firm because they are anchored to the bottom by long tendrils. In much the same way life gets tough. A relationship is tested. At the same time, it remains an anchor so that we are not overwhelmed and swept away by the seasons and currents of life.
