This painting is about Freshwater Bay, while Claremont and the surrounding suburbs cluster around the edge of the waterway like some modern version of a fishing village. I’m having some fun with the details of Claremont. The underpass, the big shops, the old hotel and the railway. I love the Claremont village, and dabbling it with the light, lines and movement. I love this gentle little corner of the world.
